Howard University graduate and St. Louis native Carla Renata has the distinction of being the ONLY African-American actress to appear on THREE network television shows simultaneously. Carla’s Broadway credits include roles such as Gary Coleman in the hit Broadway musical AVENUE Q.
For three years in Los Angeles, she had the opportunity to portray SHENZI (the wise cracking hyena) in Disney's Original LA Production of THE LION KING (which garnered her a Best Actress nomination by the NAACP Theatre Award Committee).
Ms. Renata is no stranger to Broadway, as she has appeared in THE WHO'S TOMMY, HOW TO SUCCEED… (with Matthew Broderick & Megan Mullally), SMOKEY JOE'S CAFÉ & THE LIFE.
